The doors of the Charles theater open on selected Sunday mornings at 9:45a.m. for what is called “Cinema Sundays.”
At 10:30 a.m a brief introduction is given by the host, Jonathan Palevsky, and then a film will begin. According to Palvsky the films are chosen based on suitability and availability .
“We try and find art house films and shy away from very mainstream films. Sometimes there are films we want, but don’t get…sometimes we are lucky and other times we are stuck with whatever we can find,” Palevsky said.
“The Art of the Steal” will be playing Feb. 28. The film is a documentary about the struggle for control over Dr. Albert C. Barnes’ 25 billion dollar collection of art.
