Bad Books show review

Bad Books played the Ottobar last night, October 24… and I went! The set was very entertaining, the songs sounded better than the recordings (which were already good to begin with,) and the band included some story telling and “freestyle” raps. It was nice to see friends play together because their energy was infectious.

Bad Books is a side project of Manchester Orchestra and Kevin Devine; acts that have toured together frequently and shared stages all over the country. Kevin Devine and Andy Hull are the main vocalists of  Bad Books and I must say their voices complimented each other as if they were bros.

Other than Bad Books songs they played “Just Stay” and “Cotton Crush” from Devine’s work and “Wolves at Night” and “Now that Your Home” from Manchester Orchestra. They also a covered Built to Spills “Plan B.”
